HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-09-29 (Special) Meeting Minutes [1]SPECIAL MEETING: COUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO September 29, 1980 The City Council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado, met in special session on September 29, 1980, at 5:00 p.m. Mayor Otis, presiding, called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Mayor Otis. The pledge of allegiance was led by Mayor Otis. Mayor Otis asked for roll call. Upon a call of the roll, the following were present: Council Members Higday, Neal, Keena, Bradshaw, Otis. Absent: Council Members Fitzpatrick, Bilo. The Mayor declared a quorwn present. * * * * * * Also present were: Assistant City Manager Wanush City Attorney Berardini Director of Public Works Waggoner Deputy City Clerk Watkins * * * * * * COUNCIL MEMBER BRADSHAW MOVED TO OPEN THE PUBLIC HEAR- ING TO CONSIDER THE ASSESSMENTS FOR PAVING DISTRICT NO. 26, SOUTH. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Nays: Absent: Council Members Higday, Neal, Keena, Bradshaw, Otis. None. Council Members Fitzpatrick, Bilo. The Mayor declared the motion carried. * * * * * * Council Member Bilo entered the meeting at 5:05 p.m. * * * * * * September 29, 1980 Page 2 Director of Public Works Waggoner appeared before Coun- cil. Mr. Waggoner presented the discussion on the project for which a portion of the costs were shared with the City of Sheridan. I The project was on Zuni Street from Dartmouth to Floyd. The pro- ject baa been completed and assessments assigned. The purpose of this meeting was to hold a hearing on the assessment roll. Mr. Waggoner presented a detailed discussion of the paving, sidewalk, curb and gutter costs. He stated the assessible cost to the pro- perty owner was $61,867.50 and the City's cost was $11,654.76. Mr. Waggoner stated the means of payment available to the pro- perty owner was to pay the amount in fill and receive a 51o dis- count or wait for the assessment to be certified to the county whereby the property owner could pay the amount over a period of ten years. Mayor Otis asked if anyone wanted to speak either in favor or against the assessment roll. No coDIDents were made. * * * * * * COUNCIL MEMBER BILO MOVED TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. Council Member Keena seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Council Members Higday, Neal, Keena, Bi lo, Bradshaw, Otis. Nays: None. Absent: Council Member Fitzpatrick. The Mayor declared the motion carried. * * * * * * COUNCIL MEMBER HIGDAY MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. Mayor Otis adjourned the meeting without a vote at 5:15 p.m.
