SPECIAL MEETING:
COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO
September 29, 1980
The City Council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe
County, Colorado, met in special session on September 29, 1980,
at 6:00 p.m.
Mayor Otis, presiding, called the meeting to order.
The invocation and pledge of allegiance were given
at the preceding meeting.
Mayor Otis asked for roll call. Upon a call of the
roll, the following were present.
Council Members Higday, Neal, Keena, Bilo,
Bradshaw, Otis.
Absent: Council Member Fitzpatrick.
Mayor Otis declared a quorum present.

Also present were: Assistant City Manager Wanush
City Attorney Berardini
Director of Public Works Waggoner
Deputy City Clerk Watkins

COUNCIL MEMBER BILO MOVED TO OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING
TO CONSIDER THE ASSESSMENTS FOR COSTS OF CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR
OF SIDEWALKS, CURBS AND GUTTERS IN THE CITY LIMITS. Council Mem-
ber Keena seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote
resulted as follows:
Ayes: Council Members Higday, Neal, Keena,
Bi lo, Bradshaw, Otis.
Nays: None.
Absent: Council Member Fitzpatrick.
The Mayor declared the motion carried.

Director of Public Works Waggoner appeared before Coun-
cil and presented the discussion on the project. Mr. Waggoner

stated the purpose of this meeting was to conduct a hearing on
the assessments assigned to property owners now that the project
has been completed for improvements made in 1979. He presented
a detailed breakdown on the costs involved in this project with
the total cost of construction or repairs to be in the amount
of $16,000.40. The City's cost would be $9,309.02 and RTD's
cost would be $2,881.65.
Mr. Waggoner stated no written complaints or protests
had been submitted to the City against this project.
In response to a question from Council, Mr. Waggoner
stated his office had received back all the "return receipts"
with the exception of David L. Miller, 481 W. Prentice Ave. Mr.
Waggoner stated Mr. Miller had paid an estimated portion of his
assessment sometime ago; and that his office had sent Mr. Miller
a subsequent letter informing him of the additional amount due.
Mr. Waggoner stated he would provide copies of the correspondence
sent to Mr. Miller to the City Clerk.

Mayor Otis noted nobody was present in the audience
to speak either in favor or against the assessment roll.

COUNCIL MEMBER BRADSHAW MOVED TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC
HEARING. Council Member Bilo seconded the motion. Upon a
call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows:
6:10 p.m.

Nays:
Absent:
Council Members Higday, Neal, Keena,
Bilo, Bradshaw, Otis.
None.
Council Member Fitzpatrick.
The Mayor declared the motion carried.
