HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-01-07 (Sine Die) Meeting MinutesSINE DIE: COUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORAIX> January 7, 1980 The City Council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado, met in sine die session on January 7, 1980, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Taylor, presiding, called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by former Council Member Howard Brown. The pledge of allegiance was led by Cadet Sen- ior Troop 1765. The Mayor asked for roll call. Upon the call of the roll, the following were present: Council Members Williams, Giseburt, Smith, Keena, Bilo, Clayton, Taylor. Absent: None. The Mayor declared a quorwn present. * * * * * * Also present were: City Manager Mccown Assistant City Manager Curnes City Attorney Berardini Municipal Court Judge Parkinson Deputy City Clerk Johannisson Deputy City Clerk Watkins * * * * * * City Manager Mccown noted an addition to the minutes of the regular Council meeting of December 18, 1979. In reference to the hearing on the Downtown Development Authority proposal, Mr. Mccown had requested that the reconmendations from the Planning and Zoning Conmission be included as a direct reference and so stated in the motion. COUNCIL MEMBER GISEBURT MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 18, 1979, AS AMENDED. Coun- cil Member Smith seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Council Members Williams, Giseburt, Smith, Bilo, Clayton, Taylor. I I January 7, 1980 Page 2 Nays: Abstain: The Mayor None. Council declared * * Member Keena. the motion carried. * * * * COUNCIL MEMBER SMITH MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF DECEMBER 20, 1979, AS SUBMITTED. Council Member Giseburt seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Council Members Giseburt, Smith, Keena, Bilo, Clayton, Taylor. Nays: None. Abstain: Council Member Williams. The Mayor declared the motion carried. * * * * * * Mayor Taylor asked if any Council Members wanted to make closing co111nents. Council Member Williams wished the new Council the best of luck in their upcoming terms. Council Member Giseburt stated he believed in Englewood and had enjoyed his term. Mr. Giseburt stated he wished he was returning. Mr. Giseburt added he would continue to be active in City government. Council Member Smith stated it was privilege to serve. He noted the number of people in attendance and urged each to edu- cate themselves in Englewood government. Also, to be regular in attendance and pray for the new Council and board members for di- rection. Deputy City Clerk Watkins read the minutes of the Sine Die meeting of January 7, 1980. COUNCIL MEMBER GISEBURT MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE SINE DIE MEETING OF JANUARY 7, 1980, AS READ. Council Member Smith seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote re- sulted as follows: Ayes: Nays: Council Members Williams, Giseburt, Smith, Keena, Bilo, Clayton, Taylor. None.
