HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-03-29 (Special) Meeting MinutesSPECIAL MEETING: COUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO March 29, 1979 The City Council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado, met in special session at 6:00 p.m. on March 29, 1979. The invocation was given by Councilman David Clayton. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Taylor. Mayor Taylor asked for roll call. Upon a call of the roll, the following were present: Council Members Williams, Weber, Harper, Clayton, Mann, Taylor. Absent: Council Member Smith. The Mayor declared a quorum present. * * * * * * Also present were: City Manager Mccown Assistant City Manager Curnes City Attorney Berardini Deputy City Clerk Watkins * * * * * * Mayor Taylor stated the purpose of the meeting was: 1) to consider inserting an article in the Englewood Citizen concerning the frozen water problems; and 2) to consider a response letter to petitioners regarding the City assuming the total responsibility for all maintenance within the City right- of-ways especially when it pertains to water lines. Council discussed at lenght whether or not there was a need to respond to this problem at the present time. COUNCILMAN CLAYTON MOVED THAT NEITHER ITEM AS PROPOSED I (THE INSERT IN THE ENGLEl«X>D CITIZEN OR THE RESPONSE LETTER TO THE PETITIONERS) BE MAILED OR DISTRIBUTED IN ANY MANNER. Council- man Mann seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Nays: Council Members Williams, Weber, Clayton, Mann, Taylor. Council Member Harper. March 29, 1979 Page 2 Absent: Council Member Smith The Mayor declared the motion carried. * * * * * * Mayor Taylor adjourned the meeting without a vote at 6:25 p.m.
