The ICMA-RC 457 Deferred Compensa ti on Plan is an integral component of the City's benefit package that all ows employees to defer a portion th ei r earnings. This benefit gives employe es a method of sav in g th at defers payment of tax on b oth the con tributi on and ea rn ings until the funds are withdrawn. • RECOMMEND ED ACTION • Staff reco mmen ds th e City Council approve th e atta c hed resol uti o n. BACKGROUND, ANALYS IS , AND ALTE RN ATIVES IDENTIFIED Th e Intern al Revenu e Code ha s b ee n amend ed to require changes to th e stru ctme of th e deferred comp ensati o n plan. Thi s resolution auth orizes th e Int ern ati o nal City Manager As sociation Retirem ent Corporation (ICMA-RC) to amend and restate th e deferred compensa ti on p lan in th e form to th e ICMA Retirem ent Corpo ration D eferr ed Compensa ti on Plan and Tru st. Th is change co mplies w ith all enhance m e,1ts required by th e Int ernal Reven ue Service. FINANCIAL IMP ACT This acti o n w ill not have an impact on th e City's fin anci al conditi o n.
