COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO
January 24, 1977
The City Council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado,
met in special session on January 24, 1977 at 5:30 p.m.
M8')"or Taylor, presiding, called the meeting to order.
The invocation was given by Councilman Clayton. The Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Councilman Williams.
M8')"or Taylor asked for roll call. Upon the call of the roll, the
following were present:
Council Members Williams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann, Clayton, and
Mayor Taylor.
Absent: None.
The M8')"or declared a quorum present.
Also present were: City Manager McCovn
Assistant City Manager Nollenberger
City Attorney Berardini
Dir. of Finance/City Clerk James

Mayor T8')"lor stated the purpose of this meeting was to consider a
resolution relating to the application of G.G.O., Inc., d/b/a Sizzler Family
Steak House, 5151 South Broadway, for a hotel and restaurant license.
RESOLUTION NO. 8, SERIES OF 1977
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF G.G.O., INC., A COLORADO CORPORATION,
D/B/A THE SIZZLER FAMILY STEAKHOUSE RESTAURANT, FOR A HO'IEL AND RESTAURANT
LICENSE TO BE LOCATED AT 5151 SOUTH BROADWAY, ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO.
City Attorney Berardini stated a public hearing to consider this I
application was held on January 10, 1977 with Councilman Sovern absent.
He f'urther stated that a resolution to approve this application was presented
at the regular City Council meeting on January 17, 1977, which failed by a
3 to 3 tie vote. As a result, this special meeting was scheduled to reconsider
the matter.
Councilman Sovern stated he has listened to the tape recording of
the public hearing in its entirety.

Councilman Mann stated he feels the needs of the neighborhood
are already being met by the seven existing liquor outlets in this area.
COUNCILMAN WILLIAMS MOVED TO PASS RESOLUTION NO. 8, SERIES OF 1977.
Councilman Sovern seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote
resulted as follows:
Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Clayton, Taylor.
Nays: Council Members Smith, Brown, Mann.
The Mayor declared the motion carried.

COUNCILMAN SOVERN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL
MEETING. Councilman Mann seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll,
the vote resulted as followa:
Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann,
Clayton, Taylor.
Nays: None.
The Mayor declared the motion carried, and the meeting was
adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
