CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO
Mq 31, 1977
The City Council ot the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado,
met in special session on May 31, 1977 at 5:30 p.m.
Mqor Tqlor, presiding, called the meeting to order.
The invocation was given by Mayor Protem Clayton. The Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Mqor Tqlor.
Mayor Tqlor asked for roll call. Upon the call of the roll, the
following were present:
Council Members Williams, Sovern, Brown, Mann, Clayton, Taylor.
Absent: Council Member Smith.
The Mayor declared a quorum present.
Also present were: City Manager McCown
Administrative Assistant Brown
City Attorney Berardini
Director ot Public Works Waggoner
Director of Parks & Recreation Romans
Director of Finance/City Clerk James

Mayor Tqlor stated the purpose of this meeting was to take action
for approval ot settlement ot the Winslow property for the Englewood Municipal.
Golf Course.
COUNCILMAN WILLIAH> MOVED 'ro OPEN THE SPECIAL MEETING. Councilman
Clayton seconded the DM:>tion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as
follows:
Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Brown, Mann, Clayton, Taylor.
Nqs: None.
Absent: Council Member Smith.
The Mayor declared the motion carried.
COUNCILMAN MANN M>VED mAT CITY COUNCIL GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION
'ro MEET WITH THE COUNCIL'S LEGAL ADVISORS WHO HAVE BEEN NEGOTIATING ON THE
WINSLOW PROPERTY. Councilman Clayton seconded the motion. Upon a call of
the roll, the vote resulted as follows :

Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Brown, Mann, Clayton, Taylor.
Nays: None.
Absent: Council Member Smith.
The Mayor declared the motion carried, and the Council went into
executive session.
Councilman Smith arrived at 5: 46 p.m.
COUNCILMAN SOVERB MOVED TO RECONVENE 'DIE MEETING. Councilman Mann
seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows:
Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann,
Clayton, Taylor.
Nays: Bone.
The Mayor declared the motion carried.
COUBCILMAN SOVERN K>VED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY A':rl'ORNEYS TC OFFER
SETTLEMENT TO WINSLOW FOR $1,250,000 WITH THE CONDITION 'mAT THE CITY HAVE
POSSESSION ON JULY l, 1977 OR BEFORE; THAT $765 9 000 BE PAID UPON THE VACATION
OF 'DIE PROPERTY, WI'DI THE RDIAINDER DUE IN '!WO YEARS AND PAYABLE AT ANY TIME
DURING THE TWO-YEAR PERIOD WITH NON-IN'IERE3T BEARING OBLIGATION FOR THE
BALANCE; THAT THE MINERAL LEASE BE CANCELLED IMMEDIATELY; THAT THE STOCK
PILED MATERIALS BELONG TO WINSLOW AS OF JUNE l, 1977 WITH NO FURTHER STOCK
PILING BY WINSLOW OR O'DIERS 'ro BE MADE AF'IER JUBE 1, 1977; THAT THE CITY
WILL RECEIVE 'mE $20,000 DEPOSITED BY LITTLETON FOR THE EASEMENT, WITH THE
LEGAL MEANS LEFT UP TO 'DIE CITY'S ATTORNEYS. Councilman Willie.ms seconded
the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows:
Ayes: Council Members Willie.ms, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann,
Clayton, Taylor.
Nays: None.
The Mayor declared the motion carried.
COUNCILMAN SOVERN K>VED TO AUTHORIZE THE STAFF 'ID DEVELOP A PROGRAM
TO BE PRESENTED TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING 'DIE SALE OF FILL RIGHTS ON THE
PROPERTY. Councilman Williams seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll,
the vote resulted as follows:
Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann,
Clayton, Taylor.
Nays: None.
The Mayor declared the motion carried.

man Williams seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as
follows:

Nays: None.
The Mayor declared the motion carried, and the meeting was adjourned
at 6:15 p.m.
