HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-08-22 (Special) Meeting MinutesCOUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO August 22, 1977 SPECIAL MEETING: The City Council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado, met in special session on August 22, 1977 at 7:00 P.H. Mayor Taylor, presiding, called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Hr. Howard Brown. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Taylor. Mayor Taylor asked for roll call. Upon the call of the roll, the following were present: Council Members WiJ liams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann, Clayton, and Mayor Taylor. Absent: None. The Mayor declared a quorum present. Also present were: Attorney John Criswell Director of Community Development Wanush Assistant City Manager Curnes Director of Finance/City Clerk James City Attorney Berardini COUNCILMAN MANN MOVED TO CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE HAMPDEN PROFESSIONAL PARK SUBDIVISION FINAL PLAT. Councilman Smith seconded that motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann, Clayton, Taylor. Nays: None The Mayor declared the motion carried. COUNCILMAN SMITH MOVED TO CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE HAMPDEN PROFESSIONAL PARK SUBDIVISION FINAL PLAT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 26, 1977, AT 7:00 P.H. Councilman Mann seconded that motion. Upon a call of the roll, t he vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Council Members Williams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann, Clayton, Taylor. Nays: None The Mayor declared the motion carried. Ho we v e r, t he Co un ty Plan n i ng De pa r t ment has certified a map relative to the current zoning a nd it h ow s th a t the shredder is in the flood plain. Attorne y Criswe ll s t a t e d that they are trying to determine if th a t ma p acc ur a tely r e fl e cts wh e re the flood plain lies and whether the ca r s h re Jd~r is wi thin that ar e a. On August 24, 1977 at 10:00 A.M. City Attorney Berardini stated t hat they we re r e qu e sting a stay on not allowing the car shredder to start o perations. CO UNCILMAN SMITH MOVED THAT THE SPECIAL ATTORNEY AND THE CITY ATTORNEY MOVE FOR A NEW TRIAL BASED UPON THE CONGLOMERATE OF MISINFORMATION SURRO UNDI NG THE CAR SHREDDER CASE. Councilman Sovern seconded the motion. Upon a call of the roll, the vote resulted as followa: Ayes: Council Me mbers Williams, Sovern, Smith, Brown, Mann, Clayton, Ta ylor Nays: None The Ma yor d e cl ared t he motion carried, and the meeting was a dj o u rn d a t 8:10 P.M. City Clerk The Public Hearing that waa to be held September 26, 1977, at 7:00 p.m. on the Hampden Professional Park Subdivision Final Plat was postponed per telephone poll and a new date is to be set at the Regular City Council meeting of October 3, 1977.
