HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-04-13 (Special) Meeting Minutes32 SPECIAL MEETING: COUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO APRIL 13, 1970 The city council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, State of Colorado, I met in special session Monday, April 13, 1970 at 5:40 P.M. The following "Notice of Call" was read by the City Clerk: NOTICE OF CALL BY THE MAYOR FOR SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL MONDAY, APRIL 13, 1970 -5:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado, is hereby called to a special meeting in the City Hall, 3400 South Elati Street, to consider a bill for an ordinance relating to emergency repairs to the Englewood Sewage Treatment Plant and any other matters relating thereto and to consider a contract with the Colorado Department of Highways concerning the TOPICS (Traffic Operations Program to Increase Capacity and Safety). DIAL City Manager SHD/rnmb ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OF NOTICE The following persons, all councilmen of the City of Englewood, Colorado, do hereby acknowledge receipt of Notice of the above special session: /s/ John J. Lay /s/ Elmer E. Schwab /s/ Howard R. Brown /s/ Milton Senti /s/ Dick Lone Notice was given to the following Councilmen who were not in attendance: Councilmen Dhority and Kreiling. Mayor Schwab, presiding, called the meeting to order and asked for roll call. Upon the call of the roll, the following were present: Councilmen Brown, Lay, Lone, Senti, Schwab. Absent: Councilmen Dhority, Kreiling. The Mayor declared a quorum present. City Manager Dial presented to members of City Council a letter from Mr. H. S. McCall, McCall-Ellingson Consulting Engineers, tabulating the bids received for the East Digester improvements at the Englewood Sewage Treatment Plant. (Councilmen Dhority entered the Council Chambers at 5:42 P.M. and took his seat with Council.) Mr. H. S. McCall, McCall-Ellingson Consulting Engineers, 1721 High Street, appeared before City Council and explained the proposals received for the digester repairs and the proposals received for the methane compressor. (Councilman Kreiling entered the Council Chambers at 5:44 P.M. and took his seat with Council.) Introduced as a Bill by Councilman Lay and read in full, A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND RATIFYING CERTAIN EMERGENCY PURCHASES FOR THE ENGLEWOOD SEWER UTILITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. COUNCILMAN LAY MOVED, COUNCILMAN KREILING SECONDED, THAT THE BILL FOR AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE BE PASSED ON FIRST READING. Upon the call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Brown, Dhority, Kreiling, Lay, Lone, Senti, Schwab. Nays: None. Absent: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried. I I I I April 13, 1970 City Manager Dial stated that he would approve change orders on this contract up to a total of ten per cent of the aggregate. It was the consensus of City Council that City Manager Dial approve the change orders as stated. COUNCILMAN KREILING MOVED, COUNCILMAN LONE SECONDED, THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED. Upon the call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: councilmen Brown, Dhority, Kreiling, Lay, Lone, Senti, Schwab. Nays: None. Absent: None. The M~yor declared the motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M. 33
