A short time ago, the writer discua~ed thi~ connection with

GENERAL IL\Oli WOiU:::> CO.,
DEll VBR, COLORADO •
llay 29, 1924.
To the Honorable 14&.yor and Council
of the City of Englewood, Colo.
Gentlemen:-
We have discussed with your committee as various times an
arrangement by which the General Iron Works may build an 8" water line
from a point 12' west of Broadway to the site of their new shops on
the northwest oorner of Bates and Elati Streets.
It is our understanding that it will be satisfactory to that
ooaani t tee if the General Iron './orks wi 11 build this 8 '' line in aooor-
danoe •i th s 'ecifications drawn by your !.ir. Strong and the Denver Union
~r Comp~.-these specifications providing for connections at the
various cross streets, two 8" valves in the main line, and in addition
for two 6 '' fire hydrants with the necessary 6" valves.
A permit to build and u s e this line will be given to the
General Iron ·1orks by the City of Englewood without charge and the Gen-
eral Iron Works will asswne the entire cost of constructing the line.
However, if and when a water distrubuting system is installed
in Englewood, a refund will be made by the City of Englewood to the
General Iron \Yorke Co. of the then estimated coat of laying a 6" line
between the above points and including the same nu~ber of orose oonnec•
tione,valves and hydrants,.
Seeing that only a 6" co nnection would ordinaril.J' be furnished
at th Junction of Broadway and Bates Streei, the General Iron Works
•ill PB¥ to the City of ~nglewood the difference in coat between a 6"
and the 8" pipe and vulue which you are now installing.
Any charges made by the City of Denver for the two hydrants
located between Broadway and Elati will be paid by the City of Engle-
wood.
