The following llotice of Call was read by the City Clerk: September 24, 1965 NOTICE OF CALL BY 'l'llB MAYOR FOR SPECIAL SESSION OF 'l'llB CIT!' COUNCIL MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1965 -8:00 P.M. to discuss Charter Review Committee reconaendations and to take any action deemed necessary in this reqard. Notice and call is hereby given of a Special Session of the City Council to be held on Monday, September 27, 1965, at 8:00 P.M. for the express purpose of dis- cussing and taking any action deemed necessary in regard to Charter Review Conaittee recoanendationa. /a/ STABLEY H. Upon the call of the roll, the following per- eona were present: Councilmen Allen, Fullerton, Hanson, Kreiling, Rice, Love. Also Present: City Manager Dial, Administrative Assistant Malone, City Attorney Cri8Well, City Clerk Chase, Members of the Charter Review Coaaittee: Howard M. Carleon, Kenneth P. Carlson, Dick Eason, Lawrence Gann, Hale Hardin, Mra. Margaret Hood, Raymond L. Horner, Dr. James F. Mezen, Chalmerae Parker, Ray Stanley, Haydn Swearingen, Gene Turpin, Dr. R. R. Walsh, Sidney J. White. Absent: Councilman Braun. The Mayor declared a quorum present. Mayor Love outlined a proposed procedure for discussion of the recommendations of the Charter Review Colllllittee. 1. Select those sections as urgent and submit those to the people at the elect- ion to be held on November 2, 1965. 2. Consider all questions and submit the total package of suggested revisions, plus or minus those we wish or do not wish. 3. Delay an election to a special time after further consideration, with no questions being submitted at this time. Diacuaaion ensued as to the timing on the matters and would Council have ample time to review all recommendations for final form by Friday, October 1, 1965. Councilman Braun entered at 8:45 P.M. Councilman Kreiling recoamended that the urgent matters be considered and that others be given further consideration. Mr. Lawrence Gann of the Charter Review Coaaittee expressed his opinion that the entire package could be submitted to the electorate at the November 2, 1965 election, providing a lot of work be done on educating the people as to the entent of the Charter changes. It waa agreed that many of the proposed changes were not separate items but tied together in many phases. RECESS The Mayor called a recess of the Council at 10:45 P.M.
