HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-10-08 (Special) Meeting Minutes140 SPECIAL MEETING: COUNCIL alAMBERS CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO OCTOBER 8, 1965 The City Council of the City of Englewood, County of Arapahoe, State of Colo- rado, met in special session on Friday, October 8, 1965, at 12:00 noon in the Council Chambers, City Hall. The following Notice of Call was read by the City Clerk: October 7, 1965 NOTICE OP CALL BY THE MAYOR POR SPECIAL SESSION OP 'l'BE CITY COUNCIL FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8, 1965 -12:00 NOON to diacuas and take action regarding Municipal Library finances for the year 1966. Notice and call is hemeby given of a Special Seaaion of the City Council to be held on Friday, October 8, 1965, at 12:00 noon for the express purpose of discussing and taking action regarding Municipal Library finances for the year 1966. /s/ STANLEY H. Upon the call of the roll, the following peraons were present: Councilmen: Allen, Braun, Fullerton, Hanson, Kreiling, Rice, Love. Also Present: City Manager Dial, Administrative Assistant Malone, City Attorney Criswell, City Librarian Hertz, City Clerk Chase. Library Board Members: Mrs. Oliner and Mrs. Kern Abaent: None. The Mayor declared a quorum present. Discuaaion was held in regard to the funds for the Library for operating money for the year 1966 since the amount expected from the County will not be received. The Library Board presented alternate library programs for 1966, as to a reduced proqram and a propoaal to hold to one mill increaae for library purposes. It was also noted that the City Attorney had been advised that the City of Eng- lewood will not need the reserve for ad valorem taxes contained in the 1966 budget for the purpose of paying taxes on the new City Hall building, which means $7,882.00 or .106 mill•. It was pointed out that there would be some monies in the capital improvement• that would not be used during the year 1966 such aa the money for the pumper and the ladder truck. COUNCILMAN FULLERTON MOVED, COUNCIU4AN RICE SECONDED, THAT THE BILL FOR AN ORD- INANCE: "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET OP THE CITr OP ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1966", INTRODUCED AT THE LAST REGULAR MEETING ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1965, BE MENDED BY THE SUBSTITUTION THEREFOR OF THE BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE WHICH I HEREBY BAND TO THE CLERK, AND I FURTHER MOVE THAT THE CLERK BE DIRECTED TO PUBLISH THIS ORD- DJANCE IN ITS AMENDED FORM. Upon the call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Allen, Braun, Fullerton, Hanson, Kreiling, Rice, Love. Nays: None. Absent: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Upon the call of the roll, the vote resulted aa follows: Ayes: Councilmen Allen, Braun, Fullerton, Hanson, Kreilin9, Rice, Love. Nays: None. Absent: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried. COUNCIIMAN RICE MOVED, COUNCIUUUf ALLEN SECONDED, THAT A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING StMS POR ALL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES IN THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, Ill '1'BB FISCAL YEAR BBGIIDIING JANUARY 1, 1966, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1966, CONSTIT- UTillG WHAT IS TERMED '1'BE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1966 BE APP--. ROYBD. Upon the call of the roll, the vote resulted aa follows: Ayes: Councilmen Allen, Braun, Fullerton, Kreilin9, Rice, Love. Nays: Councilman Hanson. Absent: None.
