HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-06-27 (Special) Meeting MinutesI I I I SPECIAL MEETING: COUNCIL CHAMBERS CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO JUNE 27, 1966 The City Council of the City of Englewood, County of Arapahoe, State of Colorado, met in special session Monday, June 27, 1966, at 7:00 P.M. in Conference Room A, City Hall, Englewood, Colorado. The following Notice of Call was read by the City Clerk: -June 27, 1966 NOTICE OF CALL BY THE MAVOR FOR SPE~IAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL MONDAY, JUNE 27, 1966 -7:00 P.M. Notice and call is hereby given of a Special Session of the City Council to be held on Monday, June 27, 1966, at 7:00 P.M. in Conference Room A of the Englewood City Hall for the express purpose of considering an ordinance on final reading awarding a contract for Sewer Extension No. 37-A and receiving a report on nego- tiations for shelter houses and toilet facility construction and considering a Bill for an Ordinance awarding contract on same. /s/ STANLEY H. DIAL City Manager ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OF NOTICE The following persons, all Councilmen of the City of Englewood, Colorado, do hereby acknowledge receipt of notice of the above special session: /s/ Geo;.H. Upon the call of the roll, the following persons were present: Councilmen Rice, Ludwig, Kreiling, Fullerton, Allen. Also Present: City Manager Dial, Assistant City Manager Malone, City Attorney Criswell, City Clerk Lyon. Absent: Councilmen Parkinson, Hanson. The Mayor declared a quorum present. Introduced by Councilman Fullerton BY AUTHORITY ORDINANCE NO. 10, SERIES OF 1966 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK-TREASURER TO EXECU'l'E A CONTRACT WITH EVERETT SCHMELZLE IN THE TOT~ AMOUNT OF $2,301.00 FOR THE COMPLETE INSTALLATION OF SANITARY SEWER EXTE~SION NO. 37A, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. COUNCILMAN FULLERTON MOVED, COUNCILMAN LUDWI_G SECONDED, THAT . ORDINANCE NO. 10, SERIES OF 1966, BE PASSED ON FINAL READING AND ORDERED PUBLISHED IN FULL IN THE ENGLEWOOD HERALD AND ENTERPRISE. Upon the call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Rice, Ludwig, Kreiling, Fullerton, Allen. Nays: None. Absent: Councilmen Parkinson, Hanson. The Mayor declared the motion carried. A written report on negotiations for the construction of shelter and toilet facilities at Baker, Belleview and Miller Parks between Stoneco General Contractors, Inc., and the City of Englewood was presented by the City Manager. Said report was received for the record. The City Manager stated that the budgeted amount for this project was approximately $36,400 which included approximately $4,400 for Baker Park from the Public Improvement Fund and approximately $32,000 from the Parks Improvement Fund. The base bid of Stoneco General Contractors, Inc. was $49,890.00. Mr. John K, Metzger of Stoneco General Contractors, Inc. and Mr. E. P. Romans, Parks and Recreation Director, were present to answer questions of the Council on the negotiations. Upon canpletion of discussion by the council the following motion was made: 301 302 Minutes of June 27, 1966 COUHCILMAN RICE MOVED, COUNCILMAN KREILING SECONDED, THAT THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD ACCEPT DEDUCT PROPOSALS 2, 3 AND 4 WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE COHSTRUCTION .()F THE BELLEVIEW SHELTER UNIT, DEDUCT PROPOSAL 3, WAS BEING POSTPONED RATHER THAN DELETED FROM 'ME CITY'S PARK DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. Upon the call of the roll, the vote resulted as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Rice, Ludwig, Kreiling, Fullerton, Allen. Nays: None. Absent: Councilmen Parkinson, Hanson. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
