July 26, 1966
At our Board Meeting on Monday, July 25, the Board of Education passed a
motion that the offer of $45,000 toward the construction of the swimming pool be
officially approved by the Board of Education. It was agreed that the pool be
constructed as recanmended by the Parks and Recreation Commission as stated in your
letter of July 19, 1966, and as presented to the Board of Education by the Parks
and Recreation Commission on July 11, 1966.
This assures a fine facility for the use of the community through the mutual
participation of the City and schools to this end.
This will constitute official notification of the action of the Board and will
provide the City the opportunity to award the negotiated contract in the amount of
$313,189 as stipulated in the above mentioned letter.
We are pleased again to be able to cooperate with the City in this worthwhile
venture.
Sincerely,
/s/ W. E. Bishop, Superintendent
