.. lilAI, ~e City Council of the City and County of Denver on or about the
29th day of June, A.D.,1~26, duly passed an ordinance granting consent of the
said City and County of Denver to the annexation to it of the City of Englewood
in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, in which case made and
provided, and
\niEliEAS, two elections have been held in the City of Englewood, Colorado,
since that time on the question of the dissolution of the City of Inglewood and
its annexation to the City and County of Denver, the first of which eleotton was
declared illegal by the County Court of Arapahoe County and the second election
resulted in a majority of seven votes against annexation and that certain parties
in the City of Englewood, Colorado, are again seeking to have said question
presented to the people at a special election, and
WHEREAS, it appears from said election that the people of the said Cit7 of Kngle-
wood are about equally di •v ided upon said question and by keeping the same before
the people there is continual unrest among the people of lh~l Oit7 . of Englewood,
that propert7 in the City of Englewood haa depreciated in value in the past two
years, d~e to the fact of the uncertainty of the future statue of said property
with the question of mme~iton D•ina rataea •~ ewe&¥ oppertunity, and
WH:Ea3AS,this Council believes that it is the wish of the majorit1 of the
people of the City of 3nglewood that this question should not be continually
raised and further in order to uvoid a great amount of litigation, which naturall7
follows the raising of this question.
HOW THErtEFO~~E BE I~ :u~sOLVED , That the City Counci 1 Of the City of Englewood.
