iaproving tbe park land for i• 1diate recreational usage. Discussion en-
aued. Tbe llayor replied that tbe City's monies for such a project at tbis

with their prograa; tbat tbe Clayton P-TA waa holding a sua of nearly

councilman Grab&• atated tbat be was not in favor of authorizing a

group felt a ball field could be conatructed in tbe bottoa of otbe Dry
Creek bed witb little or no dirt IM>Ving and little conflict with tbe event-
ual plana. H• offered to contour tbe park area if corners and control
points were eatabliabed by tbe City.
Tbe City Manager atated that tbe City does not have autboritJ to act
on tbe Water Departaent lands and tbat tbe purchase of tbe other *°rtion
9f tbe landa waa completed l••• than a week a10. A contour survey would
be helpful but require• engineering aervices which are not available at

without engineering or other special services.
The City Manager offered to meet with the Recreation Director and

Tbe City 11&na1er discussed the circumstances leading up to the poor

contaainatlon appeared in Brush Creek although as yet tbe aource is not
known. B• atated that this contamination was of tbe nature of a very serious
water t&8ta problea but that bacterialogically tbe water was safe. Tbe
Colorado State Depart .. nt of Healt~ is reviewing the entire area and may re-
l• .. • tbe result• of its f•ndilll• shortly add possibly make reco ... ndationa

proble .. that another source of water is used until tbe Platte River source
baa clarified. Tbe aalns throughout tbe City have been flushed by .. ans
of open1111 fire bydrants and every effort is used to clear tbe undesirable

$15,000.00 total valuation. At 41 return this would yield Water Fund $600.00.
