WHEREAS it is t h e duty of the City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorado, '
under the statutes of the State of Colorado, to make the annual tax levy for city
pur p oses for 1938, due and payable in 1939;
N0 1" THEREF ORE BE IT RESOLVED: That there be, and it hereby is, levied for the
year A.O. 1938, due and payable as required by statute in the ,year A.O. 1939, for
City purposes, a tax of 15.9 mills on the dollar upon all taxable property; real,
p ersonal and mixed, within the limits of the City of Englewood, County of Arapahoe,
and State of Colorado, subject to a tax in accordance with the laws of the State o!
Colorado.

u r. George Lechner appeared before the Council and requested permission to cut
the cubing on West Hampden for business purposes in the conducting of a Filling
Station at Hampden & South Huron St.
The matter was referred to the Street Department.
t r. R.W. Hoey appeared before the City Council requestin g information on his
being discharged from the P olice Department.
Boyd Walker, former councilman, presented charges against the Police Department,
as against Officers Boyer, Jordan, Fritsing er,mr Dollison and Tangye.
r. R.E. Donahue spoke to the Council and denied any connection with the filing
of p etitions for R.W. Hoey for Chief of Police. He also stated that he believed
qo ey and lowell berg should be g iven a hearine.
owell berg also spoke in his own behalf on the lack of cooperation in the Police
De artment, citing instances where no orders, or instructions, were passed on to I
h i m by his su p ervisors in the department.
