Leyden per•onnel manager for tbe Miller Super Market• in tbia territory, stated tbat 4()1 of tbe •uper markets in tbe United State• •ell 3.2 beer, and tbat it baa becoae coa11e>n practice to sell 3.2 beer in grocery stores. Tbe people in tbe audience in favor of 3.2 beer bein1 sold in tbe super aarket• were aaked to rai•• their bands, 37 sisnified tbey were, upon a second poll it waa sbown that only 10 were residents of tbe coamunity. Another poll waa then taken of tbo•e wbo were opposed to tbe sale of 3.2 beer in tbe •uper aarket• and this poll showed 36 residents were oppoaed. llr. Reverend Bubert Underhill of the Mayflower Congre1ational Cburcb and secretary of the Ministerial Alliance, spoke ppposing the issuance of a license for the sale of 3.2 beer in super markets. Letters of protest were received from the followin3 residents. Rev. Sher11&11 Miller of the First Christian Church, the Christian Business Ilana Aasociation containing 30 si1natures, Jira. c. w. Guisin1er, 3297 South Downin1, Barry J. Lane, 4010 South Lincoln, Carl B. lloeller, 431 Bast Girard Avenue, and Mrs. Glen Turner, 2935 South lla.rion Street, piano teacher of 27 students. llr. Quiat spoke asain for the granting of the 3.2 license and stated that the Miller's Super Marketa were capable of handling the sale of 3.2 beer in tbe proper 11&Dner.
