llr. Rex. Richards of 2801 South Clarkson spoke and said be bad beea asked
to contact the residents in the area to see bow much 11e>ney could be raised tbru
donation for purchase of tbe property in question, for use aa a City park.
llr. Richards stated tbat be bad contacted about 40 faailies in the i ... d-
iate area and 31 were in favor of purchasing the area f9r park uae, and that
a total of $685.00 bad been pledged for purchase of said property.
llr. Robert J. Flynn of 2759 South Washington, a resident of tbe area,
spoke as a citizen of tbe area and pointed out tbat a part of tbe proposed
park area would be well suited to a building site and would not be aff~ed
by the drainaae course in tbe area, and sug1ested tbat tbe said building site
would probably sell for around $3,500.00 wbicb would lessen tbe net' coat of
tbe park to tbe City.
llr. Robert P. Flagel of 2830 South Clarkson Street, au11••ted tbat per-
hapa llr. Jordan would retain the one proposed building site and sell tbe
balance of tbe area to tbe City for a park area.
llr. Jordan, owner of tbe land in question, stated that be would like tbe
council to take for11&l action on bi• request for curb and gutter or on bis
proposal to sell to tbe City.
