Corporation, owna certain property at the intersection of West Haapden Avenue and Greenwood
ParkwaJ, within the City of Englewood, Colorado; and
WJIBRIAS, a part of the aforesaid property is necessary for the rights-of-way of West
Ba•DcleD Avenue and Greenwood Parkway; and
WJIKRIAS, the City of Englewood owns, in a proprietary capacity, certain ~operty ad-
jacent to the property of The Associated Veterana of Englewood, Colorado, Inc., a non-profit
Colorado Corporation, which said property ia not used for governmental purposes, and an ex-
change of a part therefor for the said rights-of-way would be to the beat interests of the
City.

Section 1. That the following described property be conveyed by the City of Englewood,
ColoradO, to Tbe Associated Veterans of Englewood, Colorado, Inc., a non-profit Colorado
Corporation, to-wit:
A part of the Southwest Quarter (SWt) of the Southwest Quarter CBWi). of Section
34, Townabip 4 South, Range 68 West of tbe 6th Principal Meridian, Arapahoe County, Colorado,

Beginning at a point 192 feet Bast and 68 feet North of the Southwest corner of
Section 34, Townabip 4 South, Range 68 West of tbe 6th Principal Meridian; thence Korth,
at rigbt angle• with the South line of said Section 34, a distance of 328.34 feet, 110re or
leaa, to tbe Southeaaterly line of Greenwood Parkway in Normandy Addition; thence Kortb-
eaaterly, along the said Southeasterly line of said Greenwood Parkway, a distance of 4.17

Section 2. In exchange for the conveyance by the City of Englewood, Colorado of tbe
property deacribed in Section 1 above, the conveyance shall be made by Quit Claim Deed by

necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and convenience.
Section 4. In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists; therefore, this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its final passage and publica-
tion.
Passed on First Reading by the City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorado, this
25 day of March, A. D. 1957, and ordered published in the Englewood Bera~d and Enterprise.

City Attorney Esch stated that be was unable to obtain a sµitable agreement fro• llr.
Bayutin so that the City could maintain the "Englewood" dam on Little Dry Creek.

Braun seconded) that the City Attorney advise llr. Hayutin that the City
cannot assume any responsibility in case of flood if the
City cannot maintain the dam, and, in general terms state
the City's position in the matter.

City llanacer Rudd stated that llr. Herbertson made a proposal that the City of Englewood
accept a uaed Backhoe and Shovel estimated to be worth $10,000.00 -$12,000.00, for a plot of
land in Petersburg. The City Engineer estimates the value at a much lower figure, and finds
little use for the 11aebine.

side of Aco-Street in the 3400 Block be designated for "no parking" on account of the heavy
traffic.

Councilman Parker moved ) that the City Attorney be directed to .. prepare a Bill

East side until the 3400 Block of So. Acoma Street is
widened, and that the Bill be so written that the "no
parking" requirement would be auto-tically eliminated
when the street is widened and re-paved.

City Ila.Dager Rudd stated that the "deadend" stub street at East Cornell Avenue and Penn-
sylwania is now 30 feet in width, and he recommended that the City dedicate 20 feet so·as to
aake this a 50 foot street.

that the City Attorney prepare the documents to dedicate the
20' for street purposes.

City Ila.Dager presented the official map of tie City of Englewood showing the arterial and
local aervice streets of the City which must be certified to the State Department of Highways.
The certificate shows 22.15 ailes of arterial streets and 70.91 miles of local service streets.

Ada. Aasistant, Joe Lacy, presented memeograpbed sheets showing eligible and coapleted
street paving petitions for inclusion in Pawing District No. 7, and stated that the assessed
coet would be approxiaately $253,446.00 and the City's $hare approsimately $80,961.00. This
ia $31,000.00 110re than the City bad anticipated for such use in the budget approved for 1957.

toward reducing various ite1111 therein so as to provide addition-
al funds for City participation in the proposed 1957 Paving
