ON FRIDAY APRIL 19, 1957, AS PER R~ESS PROM APRIL 16, 1957. • • • • • • • llayor Purcell re-called the meeting to order and asked for roll call: PRESBMT: Braun, McLellan, Robbins, Parker, Purcell and Rapp. ABSENT·: McCabe and Scott. • • • • • • • Councilmen McCabe and Scott entered and were seated with the Council. • • • • • • • Mr. Richard Graham, Attorney, presented twenty-eight (28) petitions for annexa- tion of a certain area to the City of Englewood. This area is adjacent to and Northwest of the City, and is described as follows: All that portion of Sections 28, 33 and 34, Township 4 South, Range 68 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, contained within the following described boundary lines: Beginning at the point where the West line of South Blati Street intersects the North line of said Section 34, which point is the Southerly limits of the City and County of Denver; thence West, along the North line of said Section 34, and the North line of said Section 33, and along the Southerly lillits of the City and County of Denver, to the point of intersection with the risht-of-way known as South Platte River Drive, beins 425.60 feet Bast of the Northeast corner of the Northwest quarter (NWi) of the Northeast I quarter (NBt) of said Section 33; thence Southwesterly . .and along the curve I of an arc, 1333.92 feet, along the Easterly line of said Platte River Drive, and parallel to, but 100 feet distant from the Official Channel of the South Platte River, established by Ordinance No. 16, Series of 1935 of the City and County of Denver, to a point; thence South, 22° 54' 20" West, 817.07 feet, in a straight line, to a point 50 feet West of said Official Channel of said South Platte River and in the center of the ri1ht-of-way known and designated as South Platte River Drive; thence West, 50 feet, to the West line of said South Platte River Drive, to a point; thence Southerly and Southeasterly, along the West line of said South Platte River Drive, and parallel to, but 100 feet distant from said Official Channel of the South Platte River to the point of intersection with the North line of West Dart- 110uth Avenue; thence West, along said North line of West Dartmouth Avenue, 1785.9 feet, more or less, to the point of intersection with the East line of the ri1ht-of-way of the c. and s. Railroad; thence Northeasterly, along the Easterly line of said c. and S. Railroad right-of-way to the point of intersection with the North line of said Section 33, and the Southerly limits of the City and County of Denver; thence West along said North line of said Section 33 and said Southerly limits of "the City and County of Denver, 2.72 feet, more or less, to the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of said Section 33; thence North, along the North-South center line of said Section 28, and along the Westerly limits of said City and County of Denver to the Southeast corner of the Northeast quarter of the South- east quarter of the Northwest quarter (NEt SEi NWi) of said Section 28; thence West, along the South line of said Northeast quarter of the South-I east quarter of Northwe•t quarter (NEt SEt NWt) of said Section 28, to the Southwest corner thereof; thence North, along the West iine of said Northeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of the Northwest quarter (RBi SBt NWt) to the Northwest corner thereof; thence West, along the Korth line of the South half of the Northwest quarter (Si NWi)· of said Section 28 to ·th• Northwe•t co~ner thereof; thence South, along the Weat line of said Section 28 and the West line of said Section 33, to the Northwest corner of the South half of the Southwest quarter (Si swt> of said Section 33, which . point is also the Northerly limits of the 1own of Sheridan; thence Bast along the North line of said South half of the Southwest quarter (Si swi) of Section 33, and along the North line of the Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter (SW! SBt) of said Section 33, and alon1 the Northerly limits of said Town of Sheridan, to a point 288 feet east of the Northwest corner of said Southwest quarter of the Southeast quarter (SWi SBt) of said Section 33; thence Southwesterly, 609 feet, along the Easterly limits of said Town of Sheridan to a point on the East line of said South half of the louthweat quarter (Si SWi) of said Section 33; thence South, along said Bast line of aaid South half of the Southwest quarter (Si SWt) of said Section 33, and alon1 the Easterly limits of said Town of Sheridan, to the point of inter- section with the South line of said Section 33; thence Bast, along said South line of said Section 33, and along the Northerly limits of said Town of Sheridan to the point of intersection with the Weaterly line of the right- of-way of the D. and R. G. w. Railroad; thence Northeasterly, along said West- erly line of said D. and R. G. W. Railroad right-of-way, and along the present I Westerly limits of the City of Englewood to a point where said right-of-way line would intersect the North line of West Bates Avenue extended; thence .. Bast, along the North line of West Bates Avenue extended, and the North line of West Bates Avenue as platted to the point of intersection with the West line of South Elati Street; thence North, along the West line of South Blati Street to point of beginning. Mr. Graham reported that there are 637 land owners in the area, and that 346 land owners bave signed the petitions; and that of the 686.922 acres of land in the area, owners of 373.03 acres have ~igned the petitions for annexation; and that more *ban 1/6 of the total boundary len1tb is contiguous to the present City boundaries. Councilll&D Parker moved ) Braun seconded ) that the petitions be received, filed and referred to the City Attorney, and that the time of filing at 1:45 P.M. be shown in the minutes, and that the filing was accompanied by 4 plats of the area. Councilman Rapp moved ) McLellan seconded ) • • • • • • • that the City Manager be authorized and directed to write a letter to Glencoe .Builders, Inc., permitting them to make sewer connections in the City of Sheridan before the final reading and passage of the amended sewer Ordinance of the City of Sheridan.
