PRJ:SENT: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Scott and ~rcell. ABSENT: Robbins. • • • • • • • • • • The following bill for an Ordinance was presented and read in full. A !,BILL For an Ordinance: TRAFFIC REGULATIONS ( copy delivered to all Councilman) ) Councilman Braun moved, McCabe seconded ) that the bill just read be approved ~ and .. after discussion Councilman Braun moved, ) McLellan seconded ) to table the bill. AYBS: Braun, Brownewell, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Scott and Purcell. HAYS: None. ABSENT: Robbins. • • • • • • • • • • Mr. Arthur Wright of 3230-40 South Bannock Street asked the Council if they would order the sidewalk installed in the 3200 block South Bannock. Council bad previously said they world order it put in. Councilman Parker moved, ) Mclellan seconded ) that the City Manager see that orders are issued immediately for the construction of the side- walks on the East side of Bannock, and that the City construct sidewalks on the West side of Bannock and that a Resolution approving the same be adopted. , R E S 0 L U T I 0 N WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 43, Series of 1955, as amended by Ordinance Hum~er 12, Series of 1957, of the ordinances of the City of Englewood, Colorado, provides for the installation and repair of sidewalks within the City by the owner of the property adjacent thereto upon notice from the City Engineer as' as provided in said ordinances, or by the City in lieu thereof upon failure of the owner to make such installation and repair; and WHEREAS, it appears that sidewalk is not in place for approximtely 115 feet on the west side of Bannock Street at the south end of the 3200 Block and for about 192 feet on the east side of the 3200 Block of South Bannock Street, approxiaately in fromt of numbers 3270, 3280 and 329~ So. Bannock; and ! WHBREAS, it appears to the City Council and The City Council hereby finds and determines that sidewalks should be installed in the aforesaid locations pursuant to ordinance, notice thereof given to the owner or owners of the adjacent properties, and such sidewalks installed by the City pursuant to ordinance in the event of failure of such owner or owners to conform with said notice. HOW, THBREFORB, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bn1lewood, Colorado, this 14th day of October, A.D. 1957, that the City Engineer 1ive notice, pursuant to the applicable ordinances, to the owner or own _.ers of the above described properties, and that in the event of the failure of such owner or owners to comply with said notices, the necessary sidewalk or sidewalks be installed by the City at the expense of said owner or .. ners and the cost there- of assessed against said owner or owners pursuant to ordinance. AYBS: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Scott and Purcell. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Robbins. After discussion of the Traffic Ordinance: Councilman McCabe moved, ) Braun seconded ) to table the Traffic Ordinance until October 21, 1957. AYBS: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Scott and Purcell. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Robbins. • • • • • • • • • • The following Bill for an Ordinance was presented and read in full. A BILL For an Ordinance defining Public Swimming ~Pools. (copy delivered to all Councilman) Councilaan Braun moved, ) McCabe seconded ) that the Bill just read be passed on first reading and ordered published in the Englewood Herald and Enterprise. AYES: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Scott and Purcell. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Robbins. • • • • • • • • • * llr. Joe M. Lacy, Planning and Traffic Director, gave a report and analysis of Preliminary Transportation Plan as requested by the I.C.R.P.C. (copy in Clerk's file) and after discussion there was presented and read the following Resolution. R E S 0 L U T I 0 N "Be it resolved that Council endorses the Englewood Planning Director's analysis of "Preliminary Transportation Plan, I.C.R.P.C." and that it be forwarded to the I.C.R.P.C. as Englewood's comment on the plan. Be it further resolved that such requests for study and comment by I.C.R.P.C. continue to be placed on a time schedule that will allow this City at least six to eight weeks in which to give such and important recommendation the de- tailed study which it deserves. Council further wishes to establish its objection particularly to any of the proposals for financing in light of the high costs of such proposed freeways. It is strongly suggested that greater consideration be given to State and Federal financing of such projects." Councilman Rapp moved, ) Braun seconded ) that the resolution just read be approved and adopted. AYBS: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Scott and Purcell. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Robbins. • * • * • * • * • • A letter was presented from the General Iron Works containing contract whereby the City of Englewood will furnish water to the General Iron Works. Councilman Rapp moved, ) Brownewell seconded ) that a resolution approving the contract and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign be approved and adopted. AYES: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Scott and Purcell. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Robbins. * * • • • • • • • • The City Attorney stated that Colorado District of the Nazarene Church was starting suit against the City of Englewood (account water drainage) and needed the authority of the City Council to defend the City. ) Councilman Parker moved, Rapp seconded ) that the City Attorney be authorized to defend the City "'t· T • .
