PRESENT: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, Parker, Rapp, Robbins and Purcell. ABSENT : llcLellan and Scott. • • • • • • • • The new Councilmen Elect were invited to attend this session and take part in an informal discussion of a report of the Citizens Committee on the Civil Service Regulations. llaJor Purcell gave a brief resume of the Original Bill for an ordinance for Civil Service. Councilman Scott and McLellan entered and were seated with the Council. llr. Marvin Foote, Chairman of the Citizens Com ... ttee on Civil Service reg- ulations, presented bis report on the Committee's findings and discussed the report and a.IMI answered questions asked by the Council and Councilmen Elect. Councilman Robbins moved ) Parker seconded ) that the following Resolution be adopted and and a copy given to Mr. Marvin Foote and mem-· bers of the Citizens Committee commending them on their excellent work in submitting a report on the Civil Service Regulation. R E S 0 L U T I 0 N WHEREAS, a citizens committee was appointed by the Mayor of the City of Englewood to study the proposed "Civil Service Bill for an Ordinance" and to make recommendations to the City Council thereon; and WHBREAS, said committee consisting of Marvin w. Foote, Chairman, Charles Allen, William Bodan, Jr., Donald D. Ov erle and Harry G. Weigand studied said bill at length and withoutcompensation and made many invaluable recommendations relative thereto. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorado, that its commendations and gratitude be extended to the members of the citizens committee on the "Civil Service Bill for an Ordinance" for their services to the City of Englewood, and recommendations relative thereto; and that the llayor of the said city be and is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to each member of the committee as an expression of the appreciation of the city for his services. AYES: Braun, Brownewell, McCabe, McLellan, Parker, Rapp, Robbins, Scott and Purcell. NAYS: None. ABSENT: None. NAYS: Braun, McCabe, McLellan, Rapp, Robbins, Scott and Purcell. ABSENT: None. A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CIVIL SERVICE FOR THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO; CREATING THE ENGLEWOOD POLICE AND FIRE DE- PARTMENT CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION; ADOPTING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THB POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS; PRESCRIBING DETAILS RELATING TllBRBTO; EMPOWERING THB CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION TO FORMULATE RULES, REGULATION, AND PROCEDURES TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDIN~E; AND DF.cLARING AN EMERGENCY.
