D.1956. ayor Purcell calld the meeting to order and asked for roll call. Present: Braun, McCabe, McLelJ.an, Parker, Purcell, Rapp, Scott and Woods Absents Nies. Mr. Babcock and Mr. Rae having canpe l ted t heir study of the Bids, Mayor Purcell called the ••ting to order and asked for the report. 'lhey stated the Bid of the E. F. Ma tell ch Construction Company was the lowest and best bid and reccmnended the award be anade to that fil'Wl. Councilman Parker moved; McLellan seconded; .'Iha t the contract be awarded to theE. F. Shiver, Jr. and Joseph Each gave a report on a Water conservatory District, known as the Blue RiYer-Wouth Platte Water Association on file in Weld County and hearing is set for March 21th 19S6 Thia District would tax the City of F.nglevood and would take the water we are now paying for &veloping. Thia water Aaaociaticn would tax all of the sulalrban areas of Denver. r. Shivers stated he needed authority to enter the case and resist the approval of the di.strict. 'lhe Council agreed that attorneys, M. o. Shi'vers, Jr. and Joseph Esch be instructed to resist the apprcnal or the Blue River South Platte Water Association b7 counter petitions and recanmand the expenditure of an aount of up to 1/10 Mi l l and that a Resolution be drawn and presented to the Council at i ta regGlar eti n~ or March Sth, 19.56, tor it adoption.
