Mr. Lowe, of 3383 South Ogden, asked the Council to fill the street on
Girard Avenue so that be could build a garage at the rear of his property.
Kr. Lowe .has put in curb and gutter and will not be able to drive over
the curb unless the City fills the street.

The following recommendation was received from the Planning Co1111ission:
That the proposed roadway, as extension of South Cherokee Street from West
Layton Avenue to West Chenango Avenue, and with a total width of forty-eight
(48) feet, be approved, conditional upon quit-claim deeds being available for all
of the roadway.
The above is northward fro• the new junior high school.

llr. Hollber1 requested that certain alleys now covered by the Hollberg
Greenhouses be vacated, and City Manager Rudd asked that the recording of
prior vacations be checked.

A letter was received from the Chamber of Comaerce (copy in file) request-
in1 that the City of Englewood, aa its share in the 1956 Christmas lighting and
decorating cost, contribute $2,000.00 toward the cost of these two items.
llr. Fred Clatworthy, Manaaer of the Chamber of Commerce, spoke regarding the
Cbristaaa li1htin1 pro1raa and bow it would benefit the City as a whole.

contract, but not increasin1 the total number of allowable taps. Original con-
tract and suppleaenta provide for a total of 2800 taps in all areas involved.
