In 1994, Eng lewood, Li ttl eton, and So uth Suburban Park s coope rated in the prepa rat ion of a plan to
install a bike tra il along Big Dry Cre ek fr om th e 5. Pla tt e Ri vt r to th e H ighl ine Cana l. This maste r
plan, prepared bv Bob Sea m s o f U rba n Edges . Inc .. proposed the trai l al ignment. phasing, Jnd
fundraisi ng recomm en da ti ons. Fi ve segme nts of co nst ru ction we re propose d. The tw o seg m en ts
fro m the Platte River though Be lleview and Pro gress Park s have bee n completed. Mos t rec ently,
th e bridge over Pla tt e Rive r was i nstalled. The thi rd seg men t, fr om Progres s Par k 10 Br oa 1way, wa s
added to DRCOG 's Trans po rta tion Improve ment Program and is recei vi ng $6 00,000 to-,v ards the
es timated S 1,500.0C 0 cost for this seg me,t.
