NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD , COLORDO, THAT : Section I. The City of Englewood, Co lorado, is hereb y authorized to file an app li cation for $200,000 for the Housing Rehabili1a1ion Project from the Co lorado Di vision of Housing . Section 2. The Mayo r and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign and attest all necessary fonns , documents, assurances and certifications for the funding of $200 ,000 for the Housing Rehabi litation Project. Appli ca tions fo r fundin g have b ee n submitted to Arapah oe Co unty since 1992, but appli ca tions prior to th at were reg ularl y submitted to th e Colorado Division of H ousing to support th e program . RECOMMENDED ACTION • Staff recommends that Coun cil approve a resolution autho rizin g staff to apply fo r $200,000 for th e • H ousi ng Rehab ilitation Proj ec t from the Colo rad o Divis io n of H o usi ng. BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED Th e Colorado Division of H o usin g (C DOH ) recei ves federal and state fu nds to develop affordab le housing. Th ese funds can be use d for housi ng rehab ilitation, re-deve lopment and/or purchase of apartments and single-fa mily homes to be owned or rented by pers ons w ith in comes below 80% of an area's median income. Private non-profit and fo r-profit deve lope rs, housing au thorities, and loca l governm ents ca n apply. Pr og ram objectives are ach ieve d throu gh projects that primari ly benefit low and moderate-income families. Appli ca ti o ns are accepted o n • c ontinuous basis throughout the year. Th e City o f Eng lewood must subm it an applica ti on ill o rd er to rece ive funds from the Col orad o Divisi on of H ousi ng.
