A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN ATTENDA NC-.: POL!C f FOR £OARD AND
COMMISSION MEMBERS .
WHEREAS, the Englewood City Council has deterd , ,d ti •t the smooth operation of
board and commissions are essentia l t.r, the City; and
WHEREAS, E;nglewood boards and com.nissions are made up of volunteer citizens who
dedicalt! their time to the City; and
WHl~REAS , it is important that boards and commissions have enouvh ::..embers to
operate efficiently as envisioned; and
WHEREAS , where it is essential th at qua si ,iudicial board s have a full coa:.~ ~-... ..::-\t ,. ~
members;
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, THAT:
~-The City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorado hereby adopta an
attendance policy for all boards and commissions to read as follows:
1. All board and commission members must attend 60% of all meetings in a
calendar ye2r unlesa there is an e:..cused absence . If a member is abseat more
than 40% of the meetings, the Chair should diacuas with the member his or
her lack of attendance.
2. [fa board or commission member misses three consecutive meetings , the Chair
may ask that a vacancy be declared, unless those absences are excused
absences.
3. If a board or commi ssio n chooses, they may adopt their own atte=idance policy
if it iP. more strict than the City Council policy .
4. This rule shall no t apply to members that are required to be on a board or
commission by statute.
