A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE TRAVEL POLICY FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorado adopted the current
t-ave! policy by the passag• of Resolution No. 47 , Series of 2000; and
WHEREI\B, the Englewood City Council has reviewed the current travel policy and
determined that amendments are neced8ary to update and clarify it; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, TIIAT:
lllll:ti!m.1 -The City Council of the City ofEnglewood, Colorado hereby amends the
Travel Policy for the City Council of Englewood, to read as follows:
TRAVEL POLICY FOR TIIE CITY COUNCIL OF ENGLEWOOD.
Each Council Member shall justify participation for all travel events thirty (30) days
prior to attendance, and approval by vote of the Council. Ememncy situations mav

Each Council Member shall provide a summary explaining the nature of his/her
participation, how it will benefit or affect the City and reconciling expenditures
within 30 days after hia/her retur" from an event.
Council as a group , stall make a conscientious effo\·t to remain within the
designated budget each year.
Council shall make a diligent effort to keep expenses to a minim\un by purchasing
lowest available air fare , securing economy hotel accommodations, and implementing
other cost saving measure s whenever pos£ihle .
Council Members will not be allowed to travel for the City until their previous travel
expenses have been reconciled.
Council shall continually m.,nitor travel expenditures throughout the year.

Council travel record s are a matter of public record and may be review er!~

A Council Member may go to only one (l) out-of-sta te co nference per year unless
npp1 ,ed by a ~majority vote.
Any Council Member who cannot travel after expenses have already been paid moy
be asked to pay a portion of these expenses out of his/her salary by a super•majority
vote of Council.
