SERIES OF 2000
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INCREASE IN BENEFITS FOR THE RETIRED
FIREFIGHTERS.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 88, Series or 2000, which ,.,. paa&ed on October 16. 2000,
by the Englewood City Council listed the incornct dates for the pension benefit incruae; and
WHEREAS, the pasaage or this Resolution is required to correct the dates of Resolution
No . 88, Series 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Englewood Firelighters Pension Board have reviewed the benefits for the
Firefighter Retirees and recommends approval of a $200 monthly increase for thooe
Firelighters who retired as of January I , 1999; and
WHEREAS, the pasaage or thia Resolution will increase retired Firelighters penaion
payment&, to become effective January 1, 2001 for thoee Firelighters who retired prior to
January 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the benefit increase shall be for "membere" and shall not apply to thooe
accounts that have been separated by a qualiliea domestic relations order;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO , THAT :
~-The City Council of the City of Englewood hereby vacates Resolution No . 88,
Series 2000.
~i;t,iim.2. The City Council of the City of Englewood hereby approves the u,.::rease in
benefits for the retired Firefighters Effective January I , 2001. All members whoee
payment& commenced prior to January !, 1999, shall receive an increase of $200.00 per
month to their pension benefit& with surviviug spouses receiving one-third (l/3) of the
$200 .00 pension benefit increase.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 18th of Dece mber , 2000.

COUNCIL GOAL AND PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
Resolution 88 , Series 2000, was pa,;sed on Ociober 16, 2000 , listed incorreci dates for the pension
increase .
HECOMMENDED ACTION
The Firelighters Pension Board approved a $200 per month benefit increase effective JImuary 1, 2001
to all participants re1ired as of January 1, 1999. The Board requests City Council approve a resolution
to correct the date previously listed as January 1, 1998 to be, for participants retired as of January 1,
1999, supporting their dc-cision .
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This action will no1 directly Impact the financial condition of the City of Englewood as the Firefighter
Pension Fund is currently fully funded and the City is only making required mln!mum contributions .
