A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING TIE NOMINATION OF MICHAEL FULTON
FOR THE 1998 METROPOLITAN MAYORS AND COMMISSIONERS YOUTH AWt.RDS
WHEREAS , the Mctmpolian ~ and Commissioners Youth Awards arc presented each year lo
yo uth from the ages of 13 lo 19 who have risen above personal difficulties and created positive changes In 'he ir
environments : the unsung heroes !,ave served lhrir communities . their families , nlher youth, or themselves
In a bencn,1a 1 and caring way; and
WHEREAS , the Ci ty of Engjc,o,ood wishes to recognize and honor the young people who make a
difference in our communio/, and
WHEREAS , Michael Fulton. a student al Englewood High School, has been nominated as a candidate for
the Metropolitan Mayors and Commissioners Youth Awards : and
WHEREAS . Michael Is an =q,tlonal young man who :uffered through a very traumatic period early in
his life: and
WHEREAS . Michael never pba:s blames or cort'plain1 about the diffirult circumstances life has dealt
him , but Instead, he has used his cxpcicnccs to become , S!l'lngcr person and an Inspiration lo others : and
WHEREAS . Michael has na'C" l track of the impo, lance of his educatio n. even in the midst of great
personal strife and uncertaino/, he is a 1Z>Ct11ber oi ,:,c 'ionor Roll ,·. ,c icty and was selected lo one of the few
pos itions avai labl e in th: Un ivers ity c:i Col orado 's Prc-Col k;iate program : and
WHEREAS . Michael Is keenly a'A:arc of the lmpc tince of helping vlhers and has uncondlllonaliy shared
his knowledge and experiences with tho:5iC who were also suffering through dlffic.ilt limes; and
WHEREAS . Michael is actively ,olvcd in niany school organ iza tions and as a volunteer al local shelters
for victims , if domestic vlolencc: and
w; !EREAS. Michael is very resourc efu l. challenging himself to be the best that he can be , and Is very
