A RESOWTION SUPPORTING THE NOMINATION OF TONI GAUEGOS
FOR THE I "8 METROPOLITAN MAYORS AND COMMISSIONERS YOUTH AWARDS

WHEJIEAS. the Metropolitan Mayors and Commissioners Youth Awards are presented cacti year to
youth from Ille ~ of 13 to 19 who have risen above personal difficulUcs and created positive changes In their
environments: the 1Jnsun~ heroes who have served their communities. their famllles. other youth, or themselves

WHflREAS , the City of Englewood wishes to recognize and honor the young people who make a
diffcrcncx in o ur comm unity; and
WHEJU:AS , Toni Gallegos, ~ student al Sheridan High School via the Student Options Program, has
been nom!na:ed as a candidate for the Metropolitan Mayors and Commiss io ners Youth Awards ; and
~, Ton i has ove rcome significant personal problems , and has lert behind tmancy problems and
other ncp;,a, behaviors, and now looks positl,e!}t toward the future ; and
WHEREAS . Toni has worked to overcome these barriers and past beha1iors and Is placing an emphasis
on her cducac1on ~ enrolling in the Student Options program ; and
WHEREAS. Toni has succcssful!)t completed an extensive life skllls class and has become a leader among

VHEIREAS , Toni leads by e.i.arrple and Is a good role model fer her peers , who look to her For advice
