SUPERVISORY, CONFIDENTIAL, UNOLASSIFIEID AND PJI RT-TIME BENEJ FITS-ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD FOR THE : 1999. WHEREAS, by Charter amendment effective April 13 , 1981, City Council provided for Lh u establi■hm.ent of managerial nnd supervisory employees within the r ,··~ce of the City of Englewood: and WHEREAS, by virtue of managerial a nd supervisory duties assigned to these positions by the City Manager, it bas been determined that they are e,cluded from membership, participation or r eprese ntatio n in any collectively bargained employee system of the City of Englewood ; and WHEREAS, by Charter amendm ent effective April 1~, 198 1. City Ccuncil provided for the establishment of confidential employees within the service of the City of Englewood: and WHEREAS, by •lirtue of the duties assigned to these positions by the City Manager or the City Attorney. it has been deter mined that they are confidential and therefore the City makes no promise of continuous employment, permanent employment or any specific· ~~th of employment and these employees are th erPfo re exclurled from membershi p )n rticipation ..,,r representation in ar.y collectively bargained employee system of the City of Englewood and are exempt fr oi.. the • Career Service System; and • WHEREAS. the Englewood Municipal Cxle, Section 3-1-3 ~rovi de s for the establishment of unclassified employees within the service of the City of Englewood ; and WHEREAS, by virtue of the se rvi ce sUJ.tus of employees determined to be uncl assified , benefits-eligible employers. it hes bee n determined that the City makes no promise of continuous employrr.i!nt, pernianent employ ment or any specific length of employment and these employees arn therefore excluded from mcmbe rshjp, pArticipation or representation in any collectively bargained e mployee system of the City of Englcwoor. and are exempt from the C&.reer Service System; and WHEREAS, part-time benefits -eli gi ble e1.aployees are defined to be those working an average of20 or more hours per week onr o 12 month period wit h no break in service: and WHEREAS, the City makes no promise of continuous employme nt. permane nt emp loyment o r ~·ny specific length of employment and these em ploy:?es a re the refore excluded from membership, participation or representation in any colle ctively bargained employee system of the City of Englewood and are ,-:,xempt from th e Career Service System ; end WHEREAS this Resolu tion would apply to O;··ectors wh ose co mp e nsatt on 1s set by the City Manage r; and WHEREAS, tlus Resolution would apply to th e City Man ager, the City Attorn ey and the Municipal Court Judge wh o a re co mp e nsated by the City Council under s eparate reso lutt o ns; and WHEREAS, this Resolution woa!d not apply to employees covered by a union in the City of Englewood as they are compenuted by amtract under aeparate reoolutlone; and WHEREAS , under the Com-lJon Pla.ns for directors, managerial, supervisory, confidential, unclassified and pan-w:ie benefits•eligible employees, City Council desiros to establish the pay rates for the yeu 1999; NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWO'1D , COLORADO , TIL.\T: 5"tiwl,l. S) The City Manager, the Ctty Attorney and the Municipal Court Judge of the City of Englewood -3.0%. 4) The City Manager and me City Attorney shall receive an additional 2% as performance co mpema.:Jon. Ac~·;nistralive SelVices COUNCIL GOAL AND PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION Council previo usly approved resolutions in 1997 granting wage increases in 1998 of 3.4% on the 1997 base wage rate effective Janua·ry 1, 1998 for directors , managerial and supervisory employees, and confidential employees. Council previously approved resolutions in 1997 granting wage increases in 1998 of 3.25% on the 1997 base wage rate effective January 1, 1998 for part-time, ben -eligible; and unclassified, benefit-eligible employees. The 1998 COLA covered all employee gI0~ set forth below with the exception of City Manager, City Attorney anci MunicipE>I Court Judge.
