A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE ENGLEWO OD E!,!PLOYEES ASSOC!ATIOK AND THE CITY OY
ENGLEWOOD FOR 1997-1998 .
'IYffEREAS , with the passage of Resolution No . 73, Series of1996, the Englewood City
Council authorized the Englewood Employees Association Collective Ba rgaining
Agreement between the EEA and the City of Engl ewood for the period of January 1. 1997
through December 31, 1998; end
WHEREAS , the E1111Iowood Employee, .\asociotion has now ra tified the tenath·~
agreement on snla,y for 1998 aa o result of salary negotiatians;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ENGLEWOOD , COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS :

COUNCIL GOAL AND P.RE\'IOUS COUNCIL ACTION
Toe previous Collective Bargaining Agr,;ement with the Englewood Employees Association was
approved by Council for n 997 and 1 S98 . The agreement included a provision (Article 9, section E) for
the negotiation of 1998 salary, in 1997.
RECOMMENDED ACTlON
Staff requests Council ~rO'i'al of the addendum to the 1997-98 Collective Bargaining Agreement
between the Englewood Employees Association and the City of Englewood. Tt-.e contract covers
approximately 195 employees .
BACKGROUND, ANA1.'1SIS , AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED
The City of Englewood ar.ati the Englewood Employees Association entered into negotiations in May of
1997 in accordance · ihe City of Englewood Charter. The members of Iha Englew~od Employees
Association duly ratified;. by a majo~ty vote , the addendum to the Collective Barg aining Agreement.
The onl y change to the contract is as follows:
1. Und er Article 9 , page 5 . employees covered by the Contract will receive a three and one-quarter
percent (3.25%) increase on the 1997 base wage rate effective January 1, 1998.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Im pact of the lnc.:raas.a on wages, and benefits impacted by wages, is approximately 5252,500 for
1998.
