WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorado bu amended Tille 5, Chapter <l , olthe Englewood Municipal Code ,,ith the puaap of C.B. 68, Series of 1996; and WHEREAS , licenae fees are more appropriately set by C:.,uncil """'lutfon on lill annud! basis; and WHEREAS, this resolution estabU.hes license fees for ;"olice a:id Detective Services (Private Firms); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO , THAT: SDlm.l. The City Council of the City of Englewood, Colorc1o hereby approves the follo wing license fees for Police and Detective Services (Private Firms). The resolution is required per the changes the Council adopted in the on:tinance that lifted the moratorium on this Chapter. At tho May 8, 191111 sludy session, staff discussed the proposed moratorium with the Council . On June 3, 191111, the Ctty Council read and passed Ordinance 25, Series of 191111 on final reading . This Ordinance established the moratorium to run from June 10, 1M lo December 10, 1M. On November 4, 191111, Counclt read and passed an on!inance to add this new Chapter. This license -originally contained In Chapter 12 of TIiie 5. RECOMMENDED ACTION Slaff recommends Cly Council approve this resolution establishing fees for TIiie 5, Chapter 22 . BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IOENT1FIED Licenses under TIiie 5, Chapter 2 weni part of the lllOl'lllorium that began on June 1 O, 1998. The onllnance Council adopted on Novembef 4, 1996 lifted the monitorium and requi",s Council to set fees for licenses by resolut ion . In the future, Council will review Trtie 5 fees as part of the annual budget process. The fees for an police and detective license are not be ing changed from p,evious levels . but an additJonal appliclllon fee is being added to cover admlnistratr,e costs . The fees are proposed to be se1 at the following levels until the next review: Po •';e and J etective Services License Application Fee : $110 .00 (non-refundable) Police and Delect ive Services License : $100 .00 per year or any fraction of a year FINANCIAL IMPACT The City of Eng lewood coli,,cted $1,200 .00 In police and detective services license fees In 1995 .
