HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995 Resolution No. 041• • RESOLUTION NO . 1il SERIES OF 1995 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE WAGE AGREEMENT TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING CONTRACT BETWEEN THE ENGLEWOOD EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION AND THE CITY OF E NGL EWOOD FOR THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 1, 1995 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1996. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of En ~lewood , Colorado with the paaaage of Re..,Jution No . 90, Series of 1994 approved the Collective Bargaining Contract with the Englewood Employees As sociation which is effective from January 1, 1995 through December 31, 1996 ; and WHEREAS, the Collective Bargaining Co ntract with the Englewood Employees Association was approved by City Council with the provision of a wage reopener in 1995 to set wages for 1996; and WHEREAS , the City of Englewood and the Englewood Employees Association entered into negotiations in May , 1995 in acconiance with the Englewood City Home Rule Charter and a te ntati ve agTeement was negotiated fo r th e salaries for 1996 ; and WHEREAS, the members of the Englewood Employees Association duly ratified , by a majo ri ty of the members , the te ntative wage agreeme nt to the Collective Bargaini ng . ..\.gree ment : and WHEREAS , th e re wer e no significant ch anges to the contract from the previous contract othe r than a change in the rate of wage increases. All empl oyee• of th, City of Englewood represented by the Englewood Employees Asscci ation and covered by this Contract shall receive an increase of forty .fiv e (SAS) per hour on the 1995 base wage rnte effective January l , 1996; :SOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCI L OF THE CITY OF E:-IGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS : Sl!s:l.ilm.l . RECOMMENDED ACTION Staff requests Council appro val of the wage agreement to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Englewood Employees Association and the City of Englewood for 1996. BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDE NTIFIED Tht Cit y of Englewood and the Englewood Employees Association entered into negotiations in May of 1995 in accordance with the City of Englewood Charter. The members of the Englewood Employees Association duly ratified , 'Jy a majority of the members , the tentative wage agreement to the Collective Bar gaining Agreement. Under Article 9, page 5, employees cove red by the Contract wil ! rece ive 45~ per hour base wa ge in crease for 199 6 . FINANCIAL IMPACT There are approximately 185 employees covered by the contract. The 45 cents per hour impact on wages and the benefits that are impacte d by wages is approximately $204,535 (salaries b y approximately $164 ,749 and benefits by approximately $39,786).
