With a mixture of genuine enthusia5m and ce rtain regret, I submit mv
resignation as Citv;vfanager, effe,:tive Julv 2, 1993. I nav e ac ce pted tne position
of Gty Ylana ge r of Love land , Co lorado. ·
Mv enthusiasm springs fr om th e opportunitv to work in the cornrnunitv of my
wue's childhood, a co mrnunitv that 1s growing md facin~ the difficult · ·
challenges that accompany rapid and eersistent change. 1t is a uniqu.:> city and
a great opportunitv for Sue and me. Mv regret flows naturallv from the deep
and abiding affection I ha ve for the wonderful folks who are Englewood . We
ha ve worked an-i grown together through interesting and somefunes difficult
transitions . I haveoeen impressed by the true strength of this unusual, small-
town communitv in a large urban surrounding. I will certainlv miss seeing my
many Englewooa friends. · ·
Plea se accept my thanks fo r maintaining an environment in which creative,
concerned staff have be e1, able to serve the communitv with extraordinaq zeal.
With the comrnunitv initiatives under wav and the business opportunities on
Englewood's doorstep, this will contin·~e to be an exciting and wo n derful place
to work and live .
Thanks to you and each of the members of City Council fo r your ongoing
support.
' ~ncerely,
