WHEREAS, by Charter amendment eifective Apri l 13, 198 1, City Co un ci l pr ovided
fo r th e establi shment of con fidentia l employees with in the serv ice of the City of Englewood;
and
WHEREAS, by virtue of manageri a l duties nssigne d lo these positions by the City
Mnnng er, it ha s been dete rmined Lh nl th ey are confide ntia l and the refll re exc luded from
membership, pa rticipation, or represen tation in any collectively ba rgained e mployee system
of the Cit:, of Engl e wood and nrc exemp t from the Ca reer Service System: a nd
WHEREAS, under the Compe nsation and Bene fit s Pi nn fo r con fi de nt ia l empl oyees ,
City Co uncil de si res to est.abli s h the pay ratei; and ins urance ra tes for the yea r 1993;
NOW, T Ht 'l.EFORE, BE IT RESO LVE D BY THE C ITY COUNC IL O F THE CITY
OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO , THAT:
~ Tl-.e pay fo r co n fi dent ial employees of th e City of En glewood fo r the
calendar year 1993 sh all increase by 4%.
~ The City wi ll pay 85% pe r month of t h e premium cos t fo r de penden t a nd
sin gle co ve r age . Em ploye es 1vi ll pny 15% of t h e mon thly pre mium cost fo r sin gle a n d
depende nt cove rage. The costs to be poi d by sa id employees for health and de nta l in sur anc e
coverage shall be as follows :

ISSUFJACTION PROPOSED
Staff seeks Council support for the Resolutions approvi ng compensation plans for the year
1993 for the fo llowing groups of employees:
(a) Part-time, Benefits-Eligible Employees
(b) Confidential Employees ~# 101 , 1?'1 Z...
(c) Police Division Managerial and Supervisory Employees
(d) General Services Managerial and Supervisory Employees
(e) Fire Di vision Managerial and Supervisory Employees
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
The previous Resolutions fo r the above groups were aprroved in 1991 and were
effe ctive for the tim e period between January 1, 1992 through December 31, 1992.
STAFF ANALYSIS
The City of Englewood h as established , by resolution, compensation plans for the
gr o ups designated above. Th e insurance premiu ms for th e City Self-Funded
Medical and City Self-Funded Dental for 1993 remain at the 1992 rate. Th e
Comprecare rat es ha ·.,e increased sli ghtly .

FINANCIAL
The attached Resolutions outline the propr,sed compensation increase and
insurance premiums. The approximate fir.ancial impact of the wage increase is as
follows :
General Services Managerial and Supervisory Employees
Fire Division Managerial and Supervisory Employees
Police Division Managerial and Supervisory Employees
Confidential Employees
Part-time, Benefits-Eligible Employees
