WHEREAS, the City Cow1cil of the City of Englewood, Colorado desires to make certain changes to the Golf Course Fund: NO '' .-I EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Cowicil of the City of Englewood urado, as follows: Section l. The following appropriation Is hereby made to the 19e! u olf Course Fund of the City of Englewood: Source of Funds Golf Course Retained Earnings $46,000 Appllcation of Funds Golf Course -10,000 Trees Project S46,000 Section 2 . The City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized to make the·above changes to the 1991 Budget of the City of Englewood. DATE February 4, 1991 INITIATED BY STAFF SOURCE COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA ITEM 11 (b) Recreation Department SUBJECT J.0,000 Trees Projtct Funding Jerrell Black , Director of Recreation ISSUE/ ACTION PROPO$ED Recommendation from the Recreation Depa..--tment to adopt a resolution transferring $46,000 from the Golf Course Retained Eamtngs to the 1991 Golf Course Budget for the 10,000 Trees Project. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION Council has, on various occasions , dlscussed participation In the 10,000 Trees Project. STAFF ANALYSIS The funds from the proposed transfer will be used to revegetate and landscape the South Platte River Corridor from Oxford Avenue North to the Bear Creek pedestrian bridge. City staff will coordlnate the proj ect, in conjunction with the l 0.000 trees proj ect. This area borders the Englewood Golf Course . BACKGROUND Phase 1 of the 10,000 Tr ees Proj ect was completed In 1990. The City was asked to participate in Phase 11 and m ain tain this area alo ng the Golf Course . City staff proposed that the City construct th e proj ec t instead of donating dire ct funds . The cost would be less and it would reduce long term maintenance cost. Th e Parks and Recreation Commlssion recommended U1at City staff co nstruct U1e projec t . Retained earnings for the Golf Course Fund b egtnning January 1, 1991 were approximately $477,532. ;_ natcb.ing grant through the Corps of Engtneers may b e available for partial reimbursement for s ome of the costs if the City constructs the project.
