Certain "entitlement" funds are made avdilable directly to specific cities such as Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, etc., based upon a formula of size and poverty. Englewnod has done so since 1976 when the first funds 1;c re received fo r housin:J rehabilitation. Since then, thP. City has continued to apply and receive funding for housing rehabilitation. We have also received a grant for commercial facade renovation in the downtown. Attached is a memo from Paul Malinowski to me recommending that we once ag a in apply and outlining uses for the funds. He has a lso included a schedul e fo~ application. since the City must make the application and receive any funds, I recommend that this preliminary information be communicated to Council.
