I TO: Mayor Ot is and Members of the Englewood City Council FROM: Andy Mccown, City Ma11 ager DI\TE : June 27, 1964 SUBJECT: Recommended Fees for Golf Course Attached for your re view i s a Council Communication from the Parks and Recr ea tion Comm ission recomm e nding an increase to th e green fees charged at the Englewood Municip a l Golf Course . Also, inclu ded is a memorandum from Director of Parks and Re creation Rom ans with the rationale for the proposed increase. As Mr. Rom ans i ndicates , it appears that we have fa ll erj below what other communities ar e charging for t hei r fees. Since th e golf cours e is an enterprise fund , it is important that its fees rem a in competitive in the market. It is flattering to be c o nside red the region's most attractive and in expe nsive golf fee p ack ~ge, but our c o urse can not remain att r active without continu o us repa i r and mainten a nc e . Pleas e n ote that ~ the green fees are recommended fo r adjustment at this time. Th e r eason for this is th at commitments have a lread \ bee n mad e for leagu e and tournament play for th e balance of the summer and it would b e difficult to reneg e on th o s e agree- ment s or attempt to charg e two disti n ct fee struct u res (0n e fe e structure for pre viously app ro ve d leagues an d tournaments and a different fee structure for any new tourn aments ). If adjustments to th e other fees and c harges are nec e ss ary , they would be more appropriately made at th e first of th e year . If it i s Council's wish to mak e an ad j ustme nt to the green fees, attached ple a se find a Resolution adjusti n g only th e gree n fees for your consideration on Jul y 2 , 19 84 . sb ( I C O U N C I L C O M M U N I C A T I O N ~~ 1 I DATE AGENDA ITEM I SUBJECT Jl.111e 18 , 1984 I INITIATED BY The Enl!.l eh'OOd Parks and Re creat ion Carrnission ACT!
