WH caEAS, th e Ci t y Council, by Charti,r Amendment
effective April 13, 1981 provided for the establishment of
managerial .nd supervisory employees within the service of
t h e Citj o f Eng lewood; and
WHEREAS , the City of Englewood deems it is necess a r y
to es tablish managerial and s u pervisory empl o yees with full
res pon sibili t y to th e City in order that th e Ci ty be a ble t o
f ulfil l its mi s sion to prov i de comp e t e nt, r es ponsible governm e n t
to Englewood citizens; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of superv isory or managerial dut i es
a s signe d to positions by th e City, t h e City of Englewood Car ee r
Ser v ice Board has deter~ine d th a t t h e following positions ar ~
ma na ger i al or supervisor y and as such are therefore excluded
f r om mem b e rship, ~4rticipa tion an d /or r e pre s entation in any

BENEFITS RESOLUTION FOR
FIRE DEPAR'tMENT' S MANAGERIAL AND SUPERVISORY POSITIONS
The following Fire Department's poaitions shall be represented by this
Resolution:
Administrative Bat talion Chief

ARTICLE I, HOURS OF WORK
Employees of this Resolution are expected to work the hours necessory
to a chieve efficient transaction of business which in mo s t instan ces wi J .I
exceed an average of 56 and 40 hours of work per week,
ARTICLE II. ACTING PAY
All act ing positions will be compe n s ated ot one-half the difference bl!tu,•~·11
th(! emp l oy ee 's actual classificati on and that in which he is acting as opprovt•d
by the appointing authority, name ly the City Manager . The employee must be in
the position for a period of thirty (30) consecutive calendar days before s aid
employ ee becomes eligible for acting position comp ens ation, Such pay will 1,e
r etroactive to the first day said em ployee assumes the responsibility of
t he position ,
ARTICLE III. ANNUAL LEAVE
A. Non-sh ift work employees shall be entitle d to fifteen (15) day s o l
annual leave each year . Annual leave shall accumulate mon thly a t t h e '"·all: c,J
one and one -fourth (l!t) days per mo nth of active service. In o r der to qu.:.illf }
fo r annual leave credit during the mo nth, the emp loyee must have worked at
least one•·half (lj) o f the working days of that month excluding authorized p n.l d
leave. Annual leave shall not be granted to any emp.loyee until he h as bl!en 111
the employee of t he City for at leas t one year unless otherwise authorize d by
the Chie f . For t ho3e emp l oyees having lesa th an ten (10) year s of con tinuo uu
service , the maximum accwnulation of a nnual leave shall be thirty (J O) cl ayt..
After ten (10 ) years of continuous service, non-shift work employees shnlJ IH •

Reporting of Temporary Disability

Verification of Disability

If an employee i s requ ired to wear a uniform, the emp loyee shall we ar t he
u ~iform only ae autho r ize d by the department wor k rules. All employees shall
ma intain a pre sentable ap pearance whi l e on duty, The emp loyee i s r cepormilJ h!
for any damage to the un iform by neg ligence o r deliberate act. The City will
be responBible for p r oviding a nd c leaning of said uniforms . Th e City wil 1
provide 50~ o f the c os t of safety shoes up to $30,00 per year.

During the life of this Resolution, Lile Ci ty shall pay 100% of th e p rcml um

by cha City a s a substitute for the City Dental Plan for each single and
dependent pollcy holder. Emp loyees mey be required to assume premium rat u
