A RESOLUTION URGING REGION 8 OFFICE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AGENCY TO MAKE AVAILABLE FEDERAL FUNDING FOR EXPANSION OF THE BI-
CITY TREATMENT PLANT.
WHEREAS, the Bi-City Sewage Treatment Plant is at 80 percent
capacity1 and
WBEREAS, federal funding is recommended by the Clean Water
Plan at this level of capacity for design and construction of
expansion facilities so that these expansion facilities will be
operational prior to reaching 100 percent of capacity1 and
WHEREAS, lack of federal funding is causing the City of
Englewood to consider strict tap allocation programs for the
district• it serves which will make it virtually impossible for
many of the diatri.=ts to meet their bonding requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO:
Section 1. That the Congress of the United States realize the
importance of meeting wastewater treatment requirements as
promulgated by Congress and EPA.
Section 2. That adequate funding be provided at the federal
level to provide for proper planning, design, and construction
of wastewater treatment facilities.
Section J. That the Region 8 Office of the Environmental
Protection Agency is therefore urged to make available federal
funding for expansion of the Bi-City Treatment Plant so that
additional capacity will be available before the plant is at
100 percent capacity.
