RESOLUTION REVISING WATER TAP ASSESSME~S INSIDE AND OUT- SIDE THE CORPORA.TE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 123, Article III, of the Enqlewood Charter and Chapter 3, Title XV of the 1969 Engle- wood Municipal Code, the City Council has power to establish rates for service provided by City owned utilities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said authority, said City Council of the City of Enqlewood, Colorado has established water tap assessment charges by Resolution No. 60, Series of 1972, amended by Resolution No. 7, Series of 1973; and WHEREAS, on June 21, 1977, the Englewood Water and Sewer Board, having received a survey prepared by the Depart- ment of Public Works, recommended to the City Council an in- crease in water tap as~~~sments. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINEQ BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TKE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS: Section l. be,. • 1. That upon the effective date of this Resolution, • all water tap assessment charges shall be paid in full to the Department of Utilities in the amounts hereafter set forth at the time of application therefor .. ~. The owner or applica!lt shalJ provide to the Depart- ment: c·f Utilities an accurate legal description of the land for which water service is requested and such information shall be shown in the official records of the Department and u~on the receipt provided the owner or applicant. 3. Effective on the 19th day of July, 1977, the water tap assessments shall be charged and collected by the Depart- ment of Utilities in accordance with the following schedule: Schedule of Water Tap Assessments Size of Ta,e. Inside City Charges Outside City Cha~qes 3/4 inch $ 1,000.00 $ 1,500.00 1 " 1,800.00 2,700.00 l-1/2 " 4,000.00 6,000.00 2 " 7,200.00 10,800.00 3 " 16,000.00 24,000.00 4 " 28,800.00 43,200.00 6 " 64,000.00 96,000.00 8 " 115,200.00 172,800.00 • • , • • • St"c~t ton For multiple units or spaces, the charge for the first unit s hall be One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each additional unit, but under no cir- cumatances shall said charges be less than the amount shown for the size of tap above. Section 3. Taps made exclusively for fire protection service shall be assessed at twenty percent (20•) of the charges shown in the above schedule. Where domestic taps are made to the fire lines, an additional assessment shall be charged which will amount to the regular charge for the size of the normal service desired for the property. Section 4. The Director of Utilities shall make such further rules and regulations as in his judgment shall be equitable but not in conflict with the provisions of this Resolution. Section S. That Resolution No. 60, Series of 1972, together with all amending Resolutions, are hereby held inoperative and superceded by the within Resolution.
