WATER TAP ASSESSMENTS
INSIDE CITY
APPLICABILITY : Applicable for residential, corrunercial and industrial service, when water
mains, regardless of size, are owned by the City of Englewood, except when
o ther charge s are in effect by specific contract; or existing water improve-
ment districts .

EXCEPT ION S AND SPECIAL CASES :
1. ln the case o f multi-f amily r e sidential the f irst unit will be charged at the
rate of $200 .00 , additional living units above one will be charged at the rate of $110.00
per liv ing unit .
When the r e 4'Jested tap r e places an existing tap the user will be credited with
the value of the existing tap as establ ished by the schedule above and such amount will be
deducted from the new assessment.
3 . Taps mad e e xclusively for fire protection service shall be assessed at 20 % of
the a bov e published rate . Wh e r e domestic taps are made to the fire lines an additional assess-

4 . Tn all cases not covered above , the Director of Utilities shall d e termine and use
an a ssessment equ itabl e to both t h e City and the property owner.

The minimum water tap assessment for any one tap in an industrial zone shall be $300.

to pay the assessment only on that portion of his land which is normally used
a s a residential site; and when request is made for water taps for any of the
balance of his land, the currently effective rate schedule and provisions shall
apply for each additional water tap.
B . In cases , in any zone , wh e r e lots or tracts are of sufficient depth to enable
the owner to divide each lot or tract into approvimately equal parts by means
of a street or alle y dedication or otherwise and in accordance with then exist-
ing zonin g regu lations , the a ssessme nt will include and cover only one such
part of the o riginal depth; and other assessments will be required for any
other parts of the lot or tract at such time as any water taps are requested
for same .
c . In cases , in any zone , where an owner has sufficient land or platted lots
adjacent to the prer.i ise s in which the structure is located or planned to
be located that wo uld comprise one o r more additional building sites in
accordance wi th then e xisting zoning r e gulations, the owner may elect to
ly and pay the water tap assessme nt fo r only one building site at a time.
GENERAL PROVISIONS :

The owner o r applicant s hall provide the Utilities Department with the

oned lands , the e xact a mo unt of acreage involved shall also be a part of the r e corded
information .
