RESOLUTION NO. 18, SERIES OF 1969
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLETON, COLORADO AND THE GATES COMPANY IN THEIR EFFORTS
TO BRING AN IMPORTANT INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT TO THE SOUTH
ARAPAHOE COUNTY AREA.
WHEREAS, The Gates Company announced sometime ago its

the south part of Arapahoe County, within the boundaries of the

WJIF.RF.AS, this announcement was greeted with enthusiasm
by the large majority of the residents of this area and by all

WHEREAS, it is the considered judgment and opinion
of th i s City Council that industrial development in this area

sorely needed and would provide a more healthy economic climate;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Littleton
has shared this view and has welcomed The Gates Company as a
new neighbor within its boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the said Gates Company has recently announced
that due to the complaints and objections of a few persons, it
is reconsidering its decision to bring this industrial develop-
ment to this area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD as follows:
1. That, based upon all information and evidence
which has come before this City Council, The Gates Company
should be assured that the overwhelming majority of residents,
citizens and taxpayers of this area are fully in favor of said
development and look upon the same as a further indication that
southern Arapahoe County is an area of progress; and that while
certain objections and complaints may have come to the attention
of The Gates Company, it should be assured that these objections
and complaints do not, by any means, represent the viewpoint of
the overwhelming majority of the people in this area.
2. That the City Council of the City of Littleton and
The Gates Company should both be cormnended for anticipating
an d 0 nd c avorinq to provide solutions for problems which might
be encountered in the areas of traffic, air polution, noise and
other moddrn industrial development planning. This City Council
of the City of Englewood desires to give assurances to both of
these parties that it will endeavor to work with these parties,
and all others, in continuing modern progressive development
in this area, with the assurance that it shall have the full
support and cooperation of its citizens and residents in this
endeavor. au.~
