Clerk read Resolution as follows:
rtESOLUTIOU
10 the Honorable llayor o.nd City Council
.Qlglewood, Col orado •
. lhereas: -
Jwing to an unfortuntlte, unavoidable accident which lately occurred
on the pro9erty of th e .a.lexander Industries, Inc., of Englewood, certain
unfounded rumors have been circulated regarding the extra hazardous character
of the work conducted at the plant of the Alexander Industries.
In view of these reports the members of the City Council deemed it
advisable to yereonally inspect the plant of the Company and inquire into
existing conditions.
On Sunday last your Council visited the plant and were conducted
·through the entire property and made a careful inspection in detail of
existing conditions.
1e find that though the older buildings are not fireproof, and in
case of a conflagration would be easily destroyed, yet the Company has provided
all safeguaria possible to protect the lives of their associates.
Complete sprinkler systems have been installed in all buildings
now 1n use and are being extended to all new buildings as erected. An
efficient fire org~ization has been fori:ied by the members and frequent
fire drills held. ~ple exits provided in case of need.
In our opinion the rumor of extru hazard is grossly exaggerated
and unfounded.
Therefore be it resolved:~
That we heartily cocunend the officials of the Alexander Industries
for their efforts to safeguard the lives and property of the people and regret
that untrue rwaore concerning the safety of the workers have been circulated
about th e city .

City Council in any effort toward greater safety to life and property.
Be it further resolved that a copy of these ~•solutions be spread
upon the record of the City Council and that a further copy be sent to the
Alexander Industries Inc.
