PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION ~None STAFF ANALYSIS In accordance with Council 's policy di r ective to establish health and dental rates which wi 11 pre vent negative balances in each p 1 an , the rates have been projected to me et or exce ed expen ditu r es in each plan . The surplus in the City Medical Plan and Dent al Pl an will need to be transferred to a reserve account to help meet our re quired res erve s . BACKGROUND The City of Englewood , by Charter Amendment, provided for the establishment of manage ri al and confidential employees . These employees are excluded fr om re prese nt ati on i n any co 11 ect i ve l y bargained system or th e ~aree r Serv i ce system. The Council , therefore, approved , by resolution, a Compensation and Benefits Plan fo r these employees . Changes to benefits under the pl ans mu st be made by separate re solutions for each group. Proposed Resolutions include : I. A Resolution for a Benefits Plan for General Serv i ce Managerial and Supervisory employees. The resolut i on provides for the premium costs for single and dependent medical and denta 1 insurance coverage. 2. A Resolution for a Benefits Phn for Managerial and Supervisory employees of the Po 11 ce Department. The Reso l ut 1 on provides for the prem1 um costs for single and dependent med1 cal and dental insurance coverage. 3. A Resolution for :, Benefits Plan for Manager i al and Supervisory employees of the Fire Department. The Resolution provides for the premium costs for s i ngle and dependent medical and dental insurance co verage . 4 . A Re solution for a Benefits Plan for Confidential employees . The Resolut i on provide s for the prem i um cost s for single and dependent medic;,l and dental insurance coverage . 5 . A Resolution for a Benefits Plan for Permanent, Part-Time employees. The Resolution provides for the prem i um costs for single and dependent medical and dental i nsurance coverage . Benefit plans for the collective bargaining groups are covered under separate contract agreements .
