HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985 Resolution No. 064s RESOLUTION NO. �J SERIES OF 1985 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A STATE MANDATORY SAFETY BELT USE LAW TO REDUCE INJURY AND IMPAIRMENTS BECAUSE OF MOTOR VEHICLE CRASHES. WHEREAS, the effectiveness of safety belts in reducing deaths and injury severity in motor vehicle crashes has been documented in numerous studies; and WHEREAS, there has been a significant reduction in injuries, deaths and economic losses in jurisdictions where mandatory safety belt laws have been in effect; and WHEREAS, public health and safety legislation has been enacted at the state and federal levels; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO: That the City Council of the City of Englewood strongly supports state mandatory safety belt use laws to reduce human suffering and impairments because of motor vehicle crashes.
