Elati Street Englewood, Colorado 80110 Phone (303) 761-1140 RESOLUTION NO. 38 SERIES OF 1979 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, EXTENDING AN INVITATION TO THE CITY OF TRES CORACOES, MINAS GERAIS, BRASIL, TO BECOME A PARTNER CITY AND INVITING THE PEOPLE OF ENGLEWOOD TO PARTICIPATE IN SAID PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Partners of the Americas Program was established by President Kennedy at the White House to foster and promote a greater friendship and understanding between the peoples of the United States and other South American countries through the medium of direct personal contact; and WHEREAS, to implement this program, ENGLEWOOD and other cities in Colorado are asked to become Partners with cities in Minas Gerais, Colorado's Partner State, such cities to have similar characteristics and mutual interests; and WHEREAS, ENGLEWOOD through its Council does recognize and endorse this Program with the hope that it will lead to a lasting friendship between the peoples of ENGLEWOOD and TRES CORACOES. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO, as follows: Section 1. That this Council on behalf of the people of ENGLEWOOD hereby extends an invitation to the government and people of TRES CORAGOES to participate with ENGLEWOOD as its Partner City for the purpose of creating goodwill and understanding between the people of our two great nations. Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to act as official representative of ENGLEWOOD to carry out this program. Section 3. That copies of this Resolution are to be sent to the Mayor and Council of the City of TRES CORACOES, The Colorado State Partners, the Minas Gerais Partners, and the National Partners in Washington, D.
